Before Chris Thompson Leaves Orbital For Titan, The Launch Of Steve MacManus's Mighty One, Next Thursday

Central London comic book store Orbital Comics won the Eisner this year, the first Britsh store to do so.

Much of this was down the store's events and community outreach in London.

Recently Events Manager for the store, Chris Thompson accepted the award at San Diego Comic Con. But he is now leaving for pastures new. He'll be joining the marketing team at Titan Comics, across the river in Southwark.

His final event for Orbital, after years at the store – and contributing regularly to Bleeding Cool – is on Thursday, next week. The launch of 2000AD's legendary editor and creator Steve McManus's biography about his time working on the comic,  The Mighty One: My Life Inside The Nerve Centre.

Chris will be hosting a live discussion with Steve MacManus, with drinks, and books will be available ahead of official release at a reduced price on the night.

It's very likely all of London comics glitterati will be out to celebrate. Why not come by?
