Ninjak Time Jumps For Team Up With Eternal Warrior

Valiant continues their unique, multi-timeline stories with the newest arc starting in Ninjak #18. The new story from Matt Kindt and Khari Evans features Ninjak teaming up with the Eternal Warrior in an arc called The Fist & The Steel… but it takes place in the future with a much older Colin King. Gilad Anni-Padda tracks down the former MI-6 operative to help hunt one of Ninjak's old foes, Fahkir who has gone off to their old training grounds in hopes of find a piece of the Undead Monk. The two have a banter to show they've worked together often and may not exactly like each other. But it's a fun opening issue.

Where it gets even more interesting is in the Lost Files, the back-up story by Kindt and Andres Guinaldo. Here we see the immediate fall out of what Roku did to King in the last story arc, The Fall of King Castle and we learn that some bad things are happening to the agents Ninjak and Punk Mambo rescued in Operation Deadside, two story arcs back… so where normally the main story tells the now and the back story tells the past… this new arc has the main story telling the future and the back-up dealing with the now.

The most interesting thing is the fall out from going to Deadside seems to be shown in both the last few panels of the comic… and maybe even in the first couple. The time shifting around makes the start of this new arc very interesting.

Ninjak #18 goes on sale this week with covers by Diego Latorre, Ryan Bodenheim, Stephen Segovia and Adam Gorham.
