Hastings To Close Its 126 Stores, Sell Everything At Knockdown Prices And Fire All Staff

YoungTerrorists_01_Proof-HastingsHastings, the entertainment store that became a major part of the comic book direct market, is to close all its 126 stores by October 31st.

After entering Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection earlier in the year, they sought a buyer to keep the stores in operation without success.

Two financial companies bought Hastings Entertainment in a joint venture and will run a going out of business sale. Employees will only be given seven days notice.

The company has debts of millions, including to comic book distributor Diamond.
