Viz Media Issues More Takedown Notices Than Disney, Fox, HBO, Paramount, Sony, Warners And More, Combined

You can see the major companies that issue DMCA takedown notices every month right here.

Plenty of companies who have issued notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act remove web pages, files or search results.

And it seems that comic book publishers Viz Media is one of the most aggressive companies doing such a thing. They have challenged 1,609 domains and 5,773,417 individual URLs as a result.

That's more URLS than Paramount, HBO, Warners, Lionsgate, CBS, Disney, Fox, Sony, Netflix and the entirety of the RIAA put together. And over the least year they have used more individual monitoring services to do so than anyone else.

That's an awful lot of scanlation to take account of.

Will their decision to publish regular free digital manga chapters affect this at all?
