Colleen Doran Joins Valiant's Faith #1

They created a media frenzy around the year's most popular female hero…and now Valiant is adding one of comics most legendary female artists to the first issue of their upcoming Faith ongoing series.
As just announced today in arranged PR courtesy of Vulture, Colleen Doran – the veteran artist best known for her work on Sandman, A Distant Soil, The Book of Lost Souls, Wonder Woman, and more  – has just joined Valiant's Faith #1 for a new origin prologue that will launch the new series and familiarize new readers with the character's past adventurers.
A true elder stateswoman of the comics field, Doran is a Harvey and International Horror Guild Award winner and was also notably the first female artist to win an Eisner, as part of an ensemble win for Sandman in the early 1990s.
It was just last year that we first heard word that Valiant was planning to create a Wonder Woman-level icon for its universe… Factoring in the multiple sell-outs for Faith's limited series earlier this year and the international press around the character, the inclusion of such a major creative talent for Faith's debut ongoing would certainly seem to be another affirmation that goal is quickly becoming a reality…
