Adam Hughes' Betty & Veronica Sees Pops Go Bust

BV_01_12

People are buzzing about the next big Archie release – Betty & Veronica by writer/artist Adam Hughes. The book promises to put the spotlight squarely on the famous girls, and not on how they react to Archie. Friendship over dating? That sounds intriguing. But why is the first story arc titled Betty VS. Veronica? Could be Hughes is creating some drama between the two besties.

Unlike previous Neu Archie titles, we've seen fairly little of the book aside from a few panels on social media. Some might get itchy, thinking it's a sign the book is late – but I'm told it's actually moving along at a nice clip, with noted colorist Jose Villarubia brought on to add his palette to Hughes work.

The book's in good enough shape that I'm hearing Archie will be shooting up a flare of pages later today. Luckily for you, we've gotten our hands on a particularly interesting one…

What a coincidence this is all happening as retailers hit the final order cutoff for the first issue. Funny how these things line up…
