Mark Millar and John Romita Jr have created a new Kick Ass for the latest comic in that series.

And she happens to be black.

He told the Hollywood Reporter that the story was set in a different city with a new supporting cast joining the new lead and that he sees Kick Ass a legacy character, where who dons the suit matters less than the story being told.

And that will happen for this comic book as it becomes an ongoing series rather than a series of mini-series . And Romita Jr has committed to the first three years of the title.

"Every four volumes or so I want a different person in the mask. Sometimes it might even only last a single volume or even a single issue."

He also announced the chosen artist for Hit-Girl, previously announced as a $10,000 an issue plus royalties gig, in Rafael Albuquerque.  And that after Millar has written the first Hit-Girl arc, Deadpool and Punisher writer Daniel Way will take over as the ongoing author.

Both comics launch from Marvel Comics in January.
