Macclesfield Gets Its Own Comic Con

This June sees the arrival of MACC-POW! Macclesfield, in Cheshire's first ever comic convention! Celebrating comics and comic art from around the world and embracing amazing local talent in a collision of comic-book coolness!

In association with the Barnaby Arts Festival, which runs for two weeks in June in Macclesfield, I was asked to come up with something unique and along with Aileen Mcevoy from the Lakes International comic arts festival, MACC-POW! was born!

We've been really fortunate that whoever we have approached, whether it be local talent or even big international names from the world of indie comics they all said YES! So on June 25th join me and a host of amazing talent like Lew Stringer, James Kochalka, Paul Grist, Oliver East, Dick Vincent, Emma Chinnery, students from Staffordshire University Comics and cartoon art course and more! We also have the Phonographic album cover exhibition curated by internationally renowned comic artist Sean Phillips, on display, leading up to the convention from Monday 20th of June.
