Report Says The PlayStation 4.5 Is Codenamed Neo, Will Cost $400 And Will Buff Up GPU

The PlayStation 4.5 has been a hot topic of late. It's been talked about everywhere, and the only people not talking about it are those within Sony.

Well, a bunch more details may have just dropped on the console. This time via Giant Bomb who were handed alleged documents for the new console, where it is referred to as Neo. (The PlayStation VR was codenamed Morpheus. Get it?). It beefs up the PlayStation 4 in a lot of ways, in GPU and other ways. They write

The NEO will feature a higher clock speed than the original PS4, an improved GPU, and higher bandwidth on the memory. The documents we've received note that the HDD in the NEO is the same as that in the original PlayStation 4, but it's not clear if that means in terms of capacity or connection speed.

Importantly, its been said that games, or even feature are off limits when it is comes to exclusivity on Neo. There is no New 3DS shenanigans going on here. This goes the same for PSVR too, where only technical performance will be improved. Nothing can be locked to the Neo.

The console will reportedly cost $400.

I'm not sure what to make of this. This is all more or less new territory. It doesn't look like it is going to fragment the user base at all, but still, it will hurt especially for new PlayStation adopters I'm sure.
