A Comic Show – A Crazy Week Of Poe, Panther And Power Rangers

Aaron Haaland of A Comic Shop in Orlando, Florida writes,

Hey Fandom, this week of comics is crazy huge! It's one of those weeks where I just love curling up somewhere comfy and reading for hours.

The biggest book is Star Wars Poe Dameron #1 by Soule and Noto. Taking place right before Force Awakens, we see the best pilot in the galaxy leading his Black Squadron. And there's a super cute BB-8 back up. We're having a sexy Poe celebration in The Geek Easy with free lithos and buttons, plus a raffle prize.

The other big book this week is Ta-Nehisi Coates' Black Panther #1! Wakanda burns as his people turn against him in all out regicide! I highlight several other Marvel books before talking about Mark Millar's Empress #1 from his Icon imprint.

Image has the most fun book of the week, Grizzlyshark! It's really a shark in the woods eating people. The Walking Dead's got more Negan, Spencer's crime book The Fix starts with his Deadly Foes partner Lieber. Mighty Morphin Power Ranger #2 dropped. And Steven Universe has a full sized, full color original graphic novel out where he was to go to school!

DC's Earth One Wonder Woman by Morrison and Paquette is a dozy. I very much enjoyed it and love Yannick's art. Yes, Morrison does take the controversial bondage and lesbian part of the mythos and puts them front and center with Etta Candy, and I do see how that can be problematic for some. However, I enjoyed it.
