Rocket League Cross-Play Between PlayStation 4 And Xbox One Works, It's Just About Politics Now

Last week, Microsoft alluded that it will be looking into providing cross-play between the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It's a consumer friendly move, and paints Sony in somewhat of the corner, making them accept or be the bad guys.

Well, those politics seem to be the only thing keeping the first game up for the cross-play, Rocket League, from working. In fact, speaking to GameSpot Psyonix vice president Jeremy Dunham said that the actual process of having the two consoles more or less works. He said:

The only thing we have to do now is sort of find out where we stand politically with everyone, and then it's full steam ahead to finish the solution that we've already started.

Technologically everything works, we've got it figured out, just a little bit of time to get everything up and running.

This is all encouraging. I really do want to see this come to pass, especially as someone who knows Rocket League players on all platforms. Just a case of if Sony want to play ball now.
