This upcoming weekend during the London Super Comic Convention, a small group of Spanish creators will be presenting the first volume of a whole new series based on the classical folktales. This first issue will circle the Red Riding Hood mythos.

The Unpopular Tales will be a series of comics based on the classical folktales, whose spirit has been lost upon layers and layers of political correctness and prototypical good guy-bad guy interactions. As we all know the spirit of these stories were cautionary. They wanted to serve as real and threatening warnings to all there is evil in human nature. In the original stories we have cannibalism, brutal women abuse, child abandonment, animal cruelty, murder , poison, and a large parade of other terrible actions. So his writer Christian Douglas has put himself to work will also cover classical stories such as the Three Little Pigs, Pinocchio, Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, etc.

LONA_LONDON [1] [low] We have tried the self publication route due to the adult nature of the content and to test the possible audience that might be out there for this type of work. A successful crowdfunding campaign was achieved in 2015 and the year was spent promoting it across Spain. The limited first edition was officially sold by the end of the year. Its writer Christian Douglas and its cover artist are presenting it now in London, England at their wonderful Super Comic Con

The first volume: Red Riding Hood deals with two vicious cycles which have been proven to be very hard to come out of: prostitution and domestic violence.  Some other elements have been added to make the story even more interesting. But you should definitely check them out by yourself.

Sadly the main penciler and inker of this story wont join us due to some medical conditions. But We will be in booth D424 with lots of material and surprises. With our cover artist Pedro Delgado (a.k.a Kid Kaos) Who is also open to commissions and will present his new sketchbook and cool prints. We would also like to inform you guys that he will be the main artist for the second volume which will be released at the end of this 2016.
