Doctor Strange's Origin As Done By Paul Smith

I came across this randomly a while back and saved the link thinking it would be an interesting story someday for the site… with the release of the official first look at Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, today seemed to be that day.

This is a retelling of the origin of Doctor Strange by artist Paul Smith. He posted it on his website and states that this commission comes form the collection of Gerry Turnbull, which I will do the same. Smith is best known for his runs on The Uncanny X-Men and Doctor Strange.

The origin was originally done by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee back in Strange Tales #115,December 1963. Smith states in his bio that Ditko's run on Spider-Man was one of his favorites growing up.
