Making A Board Game With Theme A Reality

Chris Batarlis writes for Bleeding Cool:

How to Succeed at Kickstarter Without Really Trying!
Making a Board Game with THEME a Reality!

By the title, you know that we must be joking! Of course we are! You have to try really, really hard to succeed at Kickstarter or any crowdfunding for that matter. Especially when it comes to making a tabletop board or card game, it's really tough! There's over 600 tabletop games and hundreds of other games live on Kickstarter at any given time!

So how can you possibly succeed? We have! Check out our New Fully Funded Project Here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/everythingepicgames/secrets-of-the-lost-tomb-and-fates-fortune-relaunc

We've done it and so can YOU!

Header Banner 2 v6Here's Three Simple Tips to Help You Get There:

1. Become a Backer!

As a George Forman once said to Larry Merchant: "You gotta be IN it to KNOW it!" It's really the truth! In order to get into the mindset of being a project manager and to understand what it's truly like to run a crowdfunding campaign, you've gotta back many of them. You've got to read the Project Updates, Watch their Videos, Read the Comments, Heck… you should be commenting, asking questions, and getting involved! Never be afraid to ask questions! 99% of project managers are more than happy to talk to you and give you information about what they have done and what they're doing to succeed! Why not? Why wouldn't they? And if you find that 1%, that's fine! No harm, no foul!

Fate - Characters2. Become Engrossed in your Project Planning

With good planning comes great results! Just like the old saying goes: "Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance!" Start finding out how much your project will cost! Start going to conventions that have to do with your project. Become surrounded by other professionals who have actually DONE what YOU'RE trying to do! If you have something ultra-unique, there's still someone out there that has done something very similar! Find that person or people and ask them questions! Then start planning! How long with this take? How much will it cost? Will you need help? How long will your production (if it's a product) take you? What do you want to offer as Kickstarter rewards? Kickstarter gives tons of tutorials on how to become a Kickstarter creator on their site, but I'm here just trying to break down the basics and get those old gears turning for ya.

3. Just do It!

Don't be afraid… get started today! Just go ahead, hit the "Start" button on Kickstarter (after you've backed a few projects) and start filling out the form. There are Hundreds of helpful people out there just like ME willing to help you in the process and help you make your dreams come true!

Our Dreams have Come True and are continuing to come true with our Newest Kickstarter that's live right now!

The Secret of the Pitch

Every game needs a Good Pitch:

Secrets of the Lost Tomb the Pulp-Action Adventure Cooperative Board Game was created by Everything Epic's Founders: myself, Chris Batarlis and my partner Jim Samartino. Born from the best of both worlds: Indiana Jones & Lovecraftian Horror, any many other fan favorite Myths and Legends, the Secrets of the Lost Tomb Franchise, accented by its latest expansion: Fate's Fortune is uniquely qualified to meet all your adventure-gaming needs in that it is Immersive, Expansive and Highly Replayable!

Having been funded through Kickstarter by "The Best Backers in the World" as we call them, this dream became a reality! The Funding of the current campaign, Fate's Fortune, will allow us continue to tell our stories through our unique cinematic and immersive gaming style. This expansion allows our adventurers to learn the ancient art of ascension in order to level up their characters in the face of the overwhelming evils of the Tomb as well as play an optional traitor mechanic that if selected, will add a whole new layer of challenge to the adventure!

VampirellaCollaborate with Others

You can't do everything on your own! We're working with Dynamite Entertainment to bring some of their characters (Vampirella and Adam Van Helsing) into our game as special Promotional Characters! This is an extremely good way to get other people on board to help make your project even cooler than before! Plus, every Kickstarter Backer loves a special free Promo! :)

Follow Your Dream!

Following our dreams has not been easy, but campaigns like this allow us unique opportunities to reach fans all over the world and bring them EPIC experiences to enjoy with their friends and family. The feedback we receive from our fans and the stories they share with us on how our stories took their gaming groups on adventures of a lifetime, drives our passion to continue to follow our dreams.

We're on Kickstarter building an amazing community! And we're loving every minute of it. So we invite you and your imagination to come check out our Kickstarter, be inspired by it! Back it! Join our Adventure…and then Start Your Own!
