Comic-Con Wars: Little Rock Vs. Arkansas Comic-Con
This is the logo of the established Little Rock Comic-Con.
And this is the logo for the newly launching for next year Arkansas Comic-Con.
Little Rock Comic-Con is being held at the Benton Event Center in Little Rock, expanding over the weekend to May 14th and 15th 2016.
The Arkansas Comic-Con is being held at the Statehouse Convention Center.. in Little Rock on… you can guess can't you?
There you go. Comic Con Wars! Here is the distance between the two shows happening on the same weekend.

So, you know, people could do both, But most likely won't. Little Rock posted "Remember LRCC is the longest running fan run show in Arkansas by Arkansans, info and pricing for May 14-15 2016 show coming this weekend."
As opposed to some johnny-come-latelys. I contacted Arkansas Comic Con asking what was up. They told me,
That was the only date that worked with our schedule and the convention center for almost the entire year. We searched all sites that list conventions in just the southern region as well as the US and it never came up with their dates for next year. No malice intended, and after were approached by their founder, we tried to offer an extended hand, but that was swiftly rejected. We aren't trying to steal anyone's thunder; just put on a show with guests that don't seem to be brought to the area.
Yup, it's Comic Con Wars! Go fill your muskets for at dawn, we attack!
We don't consider it a war at all. We just want to host a fun show that gives people a little something different than what they've seen before.
