Julian Assange-Inspired Character In New Asterix Was Called 'Wikilix' – 3 Page Preview

assangeApparently there were copyright concerns.

But originally a Julian Assange-inspired character in the new Asterix comic book, Asterix And The Missing Scroll was to have been dubbed Wikilix.

The character will be a journalist who tries to uncover the truth, in direct contradiction of what Julius Caesar wrote in the Gallic Wars book, that Rome hasn't conquered the entirety of Gaul. One village remains unconquered, the basis of every Asterix comic to date.

The book has an first print run of six million, two million in French, up on the last volume. But, as is usual, it is expected to sell out rather quickly.

Here's a three page preview of the upcoming comic, destined to be the biggest seller of the year.
