Jonathan Ross And Tim Farron Auction Off Comic Book Artwork At Orbital Comics To Fund The Lakes Festival

My abiding memory of Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron when we were at University together was, drunkenly, doing a duet of the songs of Vic Reeves on the steps of Newcastle University Union. He's still a fan.

Whereas Jonathan Ross pretty much actually discovered Vic Reeves, forcing him onto television in the face of bemused television folk who just didn't understand.

It's just a peculiar thing that, for me, mentally joins Farron and Ross together, as they both host an auction of original art at Orbital Comics on November 24th, to fundraise for Lakes International Comic Art Festival.

Donated work includes the likes of Jamie Hewlett, Charlie Adlard, Ian Churchill, Hunt Emerson, Dave Gibbons, Jamie Hewlett, Sean Phillips, Bryan Talbot, the team from Viz Comic, Dan Berry, Mark Buckingham, Joe Decie, Jonathan Edwards, Oliver East, Duncan Fegredo, Junko Mizuno, Bill Morrison, Darick Robertson, Posy Simmonds, Joost Swarte and Jeff Smith, with more art that will be drawn at this year's Lakes Festival in October itself to be added to the growing list.

The catalogue is live online right now, and online bidding will be available. Just register to bid at Proxibid. And yes, obviously I'll be there. Just remember….
