Science Returns To A World That Has Forsaken It

Miles Greb writes for Bleeding Cool:

Next week a new style of comic will start its campaign on Kickstarter. After the Gold Rush, an independent book about science returning to a world that has forsaken it, will launch its crowd funding next Thursday.  What makes this book stand out is that it's the first comic inspired by, and for, the science, skeptic, and atheist community.

ks1It also focuses on a different prospect than most modern Sci-Fis – it's optimistic. Post-apocalyptic landscapes, zombies, and nuclear fallout have become common tropes for Sci-Fi in the last twenty years. After the Gold Rush, while told in a world that has undergone a paradigm shift, features lush 1800 style North American landscapes,  Carl Sagan-esque shots of the cosmos, and a commitment to a scientific world view.

Writer and Creator Miles Greb says, "This won't be a major theme in the comic, but for the first issue at least, I wanted a bit of that Twilight zone feeling; so I am going to keep many of the story details a mystery. "

He did however offer up this poetic recapping of the story's background –
