Crush Soda – The Fantastic Three?

Fantastic-Four-Crush-Soda-Pop-Cans

Fox and Crush Soda are running a competition and promotion ahead of the upcoming release of The Fantastic Four movie. Collecting codes form all four chose flavours can win you tickets to the movie.

But there's a problem.

The Thing gets orange-flavored Crush, The Human Torch gets cherry, Invisible Woman gets pink strawberry and Mr. Fantastic gets grape.

However, there are plenty of stores that aren't ordering the cherry. It's not a racial thing, not having the soda pop with a black man on it in store, no, it's a cherry thing. It appears, in certain areas, the least popular flavour. Indeed in some places you'll be hard pressed to find a store that stocks it.

As was encountered by our intrepid photographer Clifton Coleman. Plenty of orange, strawberry and grape – but no cherry. Moving from one store to another…

Three flavours. No cherry to be seen.

Seriously, another store, is there any hope?

Clifton did find a single case in Fiesta grocery store (a branch of Minyard stores) who, he tells me,  include more foods aimed at the Latino community. However, the clerk didn't even know that product was real when he went to the counter.

Target employees sold Clifton they have never seen Cherry Crush in their store. And Wal-Mart staff claimed they had in in stock – but never did.

But it does exist… somewhere….

But hey, if you are true comic book collector, you are used to having to track things down. Consider Human Torch Cherry Crush a 1:100 variant…
