Hello Kitty To Get Feature Film

HelloKittySanrio has announced plans to make a feature film based on the iconic Japanese brand Hello Kitty. The film, slated for 2019, is expected to have a budget between $160 million to $240 million and will got through the companies recently established U.S. subsidiary.

Sanrio Media & Pictures Entertainment was established last month to exploit the companies IP and brand library worldwide. One of their properties, Mr. Men and Little Miss, had the film rights acquired by Fox Animation.

Hello Kitty celebrated its 40th anniversary last year.
