Neil Gaiman To Write Episodes Of American Gods TV Series

TempleOfArt_NeilGaimanIt seems that when Starz picked up the adaptation of American Gods as a series, they were getting more than just Neil Gaiman's writing as the source material. Producer Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) has said that Gaiman will be writing episodes of the upcoming series. Fuller and Gaiman will executive produce the series along with Michael Green (Kings).

The novel tells the tale of a battle between old and new gods. The gods of myths and religions start losing believers to modern gods that symbolize things like money, drugs and fame. The story follows Shadow Moon, a bodyguard for one of the old gods. Casting for Shadow Moon is underway.

Gaiman is not the first to write for a TV adaptation of his own work. George R. R. Martin has written episodes of Game of Thrones and Stephen King has written some for Under The Dome.
