The Six Important Moments From Marvel's Agents Of SHIELD – One Door Closes

This is where it hits the fan. In the most recent episode of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, called One Door Closes, we learn exactly who the Real SHIELD is and just why they don't trust Director Phil Coulson. So we are going to take a look at the six important moments from the episode.

1) We start with a flashback that runs through the episode. Its a direct tie into Captain America: The Winter Soldier as we see what happened on the SHIELD aircraft carrier Iliad commanded by Robert Gonzalez. We pick it up as Hydra has already tried taking over and a small group including Bobbi Morse, Alphonso "Mack" Mackenzie and Isabelle Hartley start fighting back. Bobbi's mission is to blow the ship, something Gonzalez agrees with… but as SHIELD agents start taking back the upper decks, the group decide to forgo orders and fight Hydra.

2) Back in modern time, Bobbi returns to base just as Coulson confronts Mack. He knows something is up but isn't sure what. He starts to question Mack while Bobbi makes her move to get the Toolbox out of Coulson's office. This leads to a confrontation between her and Agent Melinda May that is really just the two of them beating the crap out of each other while trying to get the box. May gets the box, but Bobbi sets off an EMP that turns off everything given both her and Mack time to hide as they await… what's coming.

3) With Skye at the safe house, a place built by Bruce Banner, she gets to meet another Inhuman, Gordon the blind transporter. We've seen Gordon pop up a few times already so it's no surprise he's back. He comes in and is very understanding with Skye, talking to her about her abilities and the terrogen mist. He doesn't push, he just lets her know she's not alone and that he can take her someplace safe. Like Leo Fitz, Gordon isn't looking to "fix" Skye, but help her.

4) Mack and Bobbi take out a few other SHIELD agents but don't kill anyone. We get a cool moment as Jemma Simmons takes out Bobbi but after that all hell breaks loose as gas is pumped in and the Real SHIELD invades. Mack gets hurt saving Fitz from an explosion showing that this SHIELD doesn't have a problem with all of Coulson's group. Everyone is captured except May and only Coulson is put into restraints. May is able to stay hidden and learns that they are going after Skye next.

5) The heart of why there are two SHIELDS comes out in a conversation between Coulson and Gonzalez. No one in the Real SHIELD trusts Coulson because of how Nick Fury brought him back from the dead. They look at him and Skye as dangerous and need to be contained or put down. But in watching Gonzalez in the flashbacks he was the one that wanted to blow the ship and follow Fury's orders. He know admits he was wrong and that may be what's driving him here as well, that all those people died on his ship and he would have killed hundreds more following orders… so now he doesn't trust anything to do with Nick Fury. This meeting is interrupted by Agent May who shoots everyone with an Icer and sends Coulson out the back door… not sure why she didn't go with him.

6) May gets word to Skye that they are coming for her, and she runs just as quinjets arrive. She tries to escape but is slowed by an agent that she ends up beating, but when Agent Calderon shoots at her, Skye lets loose her ability and it throws both he and Bobbi across the field along with shattering a tree and causing a seismic wave. When she realizes what she'd just done, Skye whispers for Gordon who immediately appears and takes her "home".

Bonus) Skye is gone off with the Inhumans, Bobbi and Mack are not allies, May, Fitz and Simmons are in the hands of the Real SHIELD and Coulson only got out with a briefcase. So there isn't much reason for hope for Coulson's crew… but then we get that hope as he sips a drink in a bar and Lance Hunter appears and literally signs on with Coulson. And for some reason that seems like enough to believe Coulson will turn this all around.

So what's going to happen next? The below trailer gives some clues.
