Where In The World Is Brandon Jerwa's Comic Book Documentary?

photo-original (1)

Brandon Jerwa is a comic book writer, who has also been making a comic book documentary entitled Untold Tales Of The Comic Industry. Traveling from LA to London and everywhere inbetween. An filming a documentary that I was really interested in seeing. At one point in 2011 I was even going to be in it, but out schedules never matched up.

He launched a Kickstarter to fund the film and took in $19,000. He began promising weekly updates , but now ignores queries ignoring queries from contributors.

Most recently he stated that the delay was due to the film changing formats… but that was a year ago. He stated in June 2014,

I am happy to tell you that we have assembled Episode 1 of "Untold Tales." We believed that a series format was the best way to preserve the scope of the exceptional interview footage we collected, and that decision has proven to be the right one. I know some of you were a little skeptical of the switch from a single feature-length film to a series of focused episodes, but consider this: I have 40 minutes of footage for one episode, and I feel pretty confident in saying that we can easily produce at least 8-10 more episodes, very probably more, with the existing material that we have. No quaint loss at all. We can show you a lot more footage this way.

I need to reshoot my hosting segments, because I haven't quite cracked the code on how to avoid sounding like a cheesy travel or cooking show host. I'll be re-shooting those segments (that total about 2 minutes) the week of June 8th, and then we'll do the final assembly. I'm already well into the clip selection process for Episode 2, and I am working like a man on fire to get these shows together. Your faith will not be met with disappointment.

We will have something for you to see very, very soon, and you can expect a no-fail update every other Friday for now. If the NEXT update doesn't come with footage attached to it, I give you my word that it will at least come with the announcement of exactly when you'll get a look at what we're doing. Thank you for your faith and support – we have definitely seen the way through to the end, and our own long period of confusion and frustration has now become a really exciting sense of progress.

We've GOT this, and I am so thrilled by what we have to show you.

He may well have got this, but rather than weekly updates, or even footage – no updates at all. Not a sausage. As John Layman, who was filmed for, and backed, the documentary said,

layman

It doesn't look like Brandon is giving much in the way of evidence against that.
