A Comic Show – Vader's Aphra Is Truly Outrageous!

Aaron Haaland of A Comic Shop in Orlando, Florida, writes:

Hey Fandom! I'm back with A Comic Show's New Comics Now and another fat stack of awesome!

Even Vader got in on the female empowerment with the !st appearance of Dr. Aphra (along with her torture droids). There's a lot of pre-release buzz on this one, to me it was just another solid Gillen Vader issue. It is pretty cool to see some new "expanded universe" characters now that so many others are gone. Disney's Big Thunder Mountain Railroad builds the mythos behind the ride and gives me another great book to read with my daughter. And everybody dies every Avengers book now, but my inner fanboy can't wait for Secret Wars.

DC's Weeklies are all finishing up and nutty spoilers abound that I'm kind enough not to mention. Multiversity Ultra is the trippiest mainstream Morrison yet. You actually get infected reading it! It all ends soon with Multiversity #2!

I do a round up of several new Image issues, including the 25 cent Invincible! Low and Wayward both are highly recommended $9.99 volume ones. Alan Moore and Top Shelf have a new LOEG Nemo volume, Black Mask Comics' We Can Never Go Home is a lot like Wood and Cloonan's Demo. It's teens with powers that screw up their lives and a soundtrack. That's actually praise because Demo is great, and this is it's own special snowflake. Black Mask has a ton books coming with an old school Vertigo feel.

IDW's Miami Vice Remix and Jem and the Holograms both were pitch perfect takes on old favorites. Ross' art alone is worth checking out the new Jem!
