Chris Chalk To Play Lucius Fox On Gotham

ChrisChalkGary Cooper is coming to Gotham! Okay, not THAT Gary Cooper… Chris Chalk who played Gary Cooper on HBO's The Newsroom has been signed to play Lucius Fox on the Batman prequel series on Fox.

Chalk / Fox will first appear in episode 21 with an option to return for season 2. Fox is an important figure in the Batman mythos not only as a technical genius that helps Bruce Wayne with some gadgets, but also as a moral beacon within Wayne Enterprises that Bruce can rely on and is dedicated to the memory of Thomas Wayne. In the comics Fox eventually becomes President of the company. Fox was played by Morgan Freeman in the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy.

Chalk started his career in the New York theaters, spent three seasons on The Newsroom getting some of Aaron Sorkin's best jokes in the show. He also appeared in 12 Years A Slave.
