Flowing Blade Bushido is a neo-Feudilistic Samurai adventure comic book series that blends science fiction and fantasy. The story takes place in the year 3025, 500 years after The Great War shatters the continents leaving humanity to rebuild on the broken land.

Rahsaan Romain writes,

As a comic book writer, getting into the business can be a difficult task. It takes months to find the right artist. A writer needs someone that understands what you are trying to create and compliments your ideas with an authentic style and original flare. Fortunately, over the course of several months of searching I found Hector Trunnec, a remarkable artist whose work I'd admired on Deviantart for some time. Together we set out to make something original that readers would love and publishing companies would clamor for.

But how do you write a comic, pay an artist and give fans a taste of your series without even being published? The answer is crowdfunding! Through Kickstarter, Hector and I believe that we can not only get fans talking about the series but enter the industry of creator owned comics by showing publishers that there is a real audience for what we are creating!

"Flowing Blade Bushido" is a neo-feudalistic science-fiction adventure comic book series that follows the exploits of Kumo, a young shinsengumi officer trapped in the middle of an international feud between several countries, as the flying city of Zairaku lurks in the sky.

I began writing this series about over 14 years ago. It began as a story of a man trapped between two worlds. However, since then, it has grown into a universe of its own. In creating this series I want to introduce something that has never read before. Something that melded genres and time periods in a way that allows readers to experience something wholly different than they have experienced before.

In order to do this, I believe that this series must be creator owned and not exist in the shared universe many other comic book series inhabit. This is because, the character development, consistency and pace of the series is, in many ways, as important as the art. Therefore, in order to keep the integrity of the universe that "Flowing Blade Bushido" resides, keeping creative control in the hands of the series' creator enables readers to get the full story, uninterrupted by various other writers.

To do this we decided we need 2,500 to get started. Even though we are 64% funded with 15 days left, we have some Bleeding Cool Comic goals of our own. We want to hit 75% of your funding by Sunday night! If this happens, each of the Bleeding Cool backers will receive a special Bleeding Cool-Flowing Blade Bushido desktop background along with their other rewards for backing our project!
