Talking Comics – Discussing This Week's Upcoming Titles From Silk, To Ei8ht, Secret Identities And More

By Randy Young and Chris Hunter

Bleeding Cool welcomes the return of Talking Comics, from Excalibur Comics, Cards, and Games in Shreveport, Louisiana, to discuss this week's upcoming books, speculating about where they are headed, and discuss their favorite storylines.

Hosts Randy Young and Chris Hunter say:

Thanks for pressing play!

Just a quick reminder that the Louisiana Comic Con is this weekend. This is the very first year of the convention, and we're looking forward to both being there and to participating in the convention this weekend.  Also, it was recently announced on the Louisiana Comic Con Facebook page that most of the vendors and artists that will be there will only accept cash, so it's best to bring cash with you for this event, and there will also be an ATM on location for you to use there at the convention center.

Next order of business is that we are now on iTunes.  Anyone that enjoys our show in video format can also enjoy it in audio format on iTunes and Stitcher as well.

This week we see some very interesting and exciting brand-new series start.  First up, we get to see a brand-new spider character hit the shelves this week in the form of Silk.  She's been dormant for far too long, and now she gets her own comic book series starting this week.

Another independent title that we're very much looking forward to reading is Ei8ht by Rafael Albuquerque. His fantastic art has been dazzling our eyes for years, and with this series he takes on both art and writing, and we can't wait to read it.

Another fantastic-looking, brand-new series that starts this week is Secret Identities.  This is by Jay Faerber who has written many great series in the past, and from the teaser pages that we've seen of this new series, it definitely will hook you in and keep you interested, so be sure and check out the first issue.

Don't forget that the Black Vortex continues this week in the Legendary Star-Lord, as we see tensions rise and both the Guardians of the Galaxy and the X-Men still trying to avoid the Slaughter Lords.

Another story line hitting this week is the Multiversity Mastermen #1.7 by Grant Morrison and Jim Lee, and with this issue we take a look at the very different world of Earth-10 as it is ruled by the Germans with a superman of their own called Overman!

Tons of our favorites hit the shelf this week, and we can't wait to get our favorite comic series and read them, but don't forget the Question of the Week because we want to know what you think about Marvel Studios acquiring Spider-Man!
