When Grant Morrison Could Have Owned A Chunk Of Marvel…

comics_grant_morrison_1As the Ultimate Universe comes to an end at Marvel Comics (possibly), the originator of the line, Bill Jemas, has been interviewed by Italian site Fumettologica, talking about his time with Marvel comics. And his inability to keep Grant Morrison at Marvel on New X-Men, rather than moving to DC Comics for Batman. Marvel were rather keen to keep Morrison on X-Men…

I do recall trying to keep Grant on the Marvel team – I even got the board to approve granting him a pile of stock options (which would have been worth a small fortune), but he passed.

It the time, just after bankruptcy, Marvel was rather devalued. But then the movies happened and Disney bought the company for four billion dollars.

Still, he's got his MBE. And maybe if Bill Jemas hadn't screamed at Grant so much it would have been different…
