Booze Geek – Titan APA And Attack On Titan

By Dylan Gonzalez

Beer: Titan IPA

Brewery: Great Divide Brewing Company

ABV: 7.1%

Great-Divide-Titan-IPAHappy New Year, everybody! I had to start my new year off the right way: with a good beer. From the mountains of Colorado comes the Titan IPA.

Titan IPA was amber colored and had a cloudy body. It produced a thin head that did not last very long, but left a decent amount of lacing. It gave off a sweet malt scent that mixed well with a fruity hoppiness. I also noticed a slight breadiness to it.

The most distinctive flavor from the Titan IPA was the malt. This was a very malty IPA, something that I really enjoy. The malt character interacted well with the bitter, fruity hops. There was also a feint sugary sweetness in the finish. On the palate, I found it was easy to drink without a potent carbonation.

Overall, I thought this was a great beer. The malt character makes it a bit different from other IPAs, giving it great flavor. I also gave it big props for its drinkability.

What to Drink This Beer To:

Shorewood Blu-ray OcardLast year, along with many others, I became a fan of Attack On Titan. Though I have not read the manga, I ate up the show very quickly through Netflix. Yes, it has some of that token over-the-topness that has been associated with anime, but goddamn if the show is not satisfying. The characterization is great, the animation stellar and if you don't find the Titans a little creepy, well, that's weird. So I highly recommend of six-pack of Titan IPA to enjoy alongside Attack on Titan.
