Uncharted Gets Oscar-Winning Screenwriter

January 29th, 2011 @ 19:11:28The Uncharted movie has gotten a new writer. Sony's adaptation of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune has been in the works for some time now and has gone through a lot of changes, but now they are bringing on Oscar-winning screenwriter Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) to script the film. Boal joins directer Seth Gordon on the project.

The video game follows Nate Drake, a descendant of Sir Francis Drake, who believes he knows the way to the lost city of El Dorado. In his quest he must beat our rival treasure hunters as well as mutated Nazis and Spaniards.

The next step will be to find their lead. Mark Wahlberg was once attached to the film but dropped out when things didn't move forward. Chris Pratt has also turned down the role.
