Imaginary Drugs At NYCC 2014 For The Hero Initiative And CBLDF

Michael McDermott writes from NYCC:

141

Hey, folks, Michael McDermott here.  I ran a rather successful Kickstarter for a little book called IMAGINARY DRUGS back in January and am in the middle of shipping backer rewards.

We got picked up by IDW Publishing and the book will be in Previews next month for a January 2015 release and is available for preorder on Amazon as we speak here!

An Illuminati celebrity assassin, adorably twisted ritual sacrifices, doomed lovotic space affairs, war toads, G.U.N.T.S., luchador gorillas, and urban languawitches await in this bizarrely wonderful sci-fi fantasy fueled comic anthology. Imaginary Drugs is a creator driven exploration of life, love, death, and ray gun-toting, multiversal adventure featuring more than thirty different stories from over three dozen strangely gifted voices working in independent comics today. Skirting the fears and fringes and subverting the hopes and expectations of the modern imagination, Imaginary Drugs tackles the possible future origins of human life, our increasingly dependent relationship with technology, and the ass-kicking absurdity of beating a nest of blood-suckers into submission with a cosmically powered baseball bat. High-minded curiosity collides with a joyful barrage of low-fi fun in one of the most engaging reads of your current incarnation. Imaginary Drugs, all the cool kids are pretending to do it.

In an effort to generate some buzz and build a little good comic karma, we'll be selling 40 copies of the ultra limited Kickstarter run (only 700 TOTAL copies) of the book at NYCC for $25 a piece.  Every dollar raised will be split 50/50 and donated between the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund and The Hero Initiative.  This is the ONLY way to get a copy of the indie Kickstarter run if you didn't back the project.
