Jim Starlin's Savage Hulk Vs. Thanos…

Marvel already cancelled the Axis series once, and resolicited it as Avengers & X-Men: Axis, a name change chosen to help increase sales.

Last week, they also published a new Hyperion comic as Avengers #34.1 in an attempt to have higher sales than one just called Hyperion.

There's a lot in a name.

Which is why Jim Starlin's planned arc on Savage Hulk has been cancelled it seems. And the arc resolicited as Hulk Vs Thanos, which should nicely fit on the shelf with Starlin's other Thanos and Infinity books and might increase orders as well.

One can see a beancounter looking at the title and saying "Which will sell more? Savage Hulk #8? Or Hulk Vs. Thanos by Jim Starlin #1? And you can kinda see their point… Marvel's Tom Brevoort says

Hulk Vs. Thanos #1 will be out in December.
