Captain America Has The Least Convincing Final Page Cliffhanger In Living Memory (SPOILERS)

This was the final page of Captain America #23, last month. SPOILERS obviously.

The long-thought-dead-Sharon Carter, and the focus for some of the ire and accusations against writer Rick Remender. Though admittedly her chained up state probably wouldn't have helped him much, there seemed to be a lot less comment than there was after her supposed death… but people really believed it, they bought into it and it was a shock.

But this is the final page of today's Captain America #24

Which might have had some impact if a) we hadn't seen The Iron Giant et al do the same thing and b) if Marvel and the media hadn't been full of these kind of articles and images about The Falcon taking on the role of Captain America…

It's a problem that Marvel has been battling with of late. How to you tease enough to get people to buy a story in three months without giving away what happens in two months?
