Hot Comics – The Eighty Dollar Club (May 2014)

Following on from the Three HundredTwo Hundred Dollar Club,  One Hundred And Fifty Club and One Hundred Dollar Club runarounds on eBay, here's a look at modern day comic books that have recently sold copies for over eighty dollars.  All raw copies, no slabbing here, no variant covers, no artificial collect-ability, just the standard books that, if you have them in your collection, could pay your rent for a few months.

dredd_underbelly_a_pBatman #1 – $96 – The Snyder/Capullo ersion, obviously. And the one issue of the New 52 to have performed in this fashion.

Uncanny X-Men #141 – $92 – There's this film called Days Of Future Past, see…

Malibu Sun #13 – $92 – a first appearance of Spawn, even if its only an advertising one. That doesn't seem to stop anyone these days.

Armorines #4 – $90 – one of the final, and rarest, Acclaim/Valiant books.

Walking Dead #13 – $90

Peter Panzerfaust #2 – $90

Punisher Kills The Marvel Universe$90

GI Joe $21 – $86 – Silence is golden… or should that be Silence is Hama…

Amazing Spider-Man #252 – $86 – first black costume, if not chronologically.

Fables #1 – $85 – helped along by Grimm and Once Upon A Time, it seems.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #4 – $85

Walking Dead #61 – $85 – First Chew

30 Days Of Night #1 – $85 – see, there was this film…

The Strain #1 – $85 – and there will be a TV show.

Dredd: Underbelly –  $84 – unique in that this is a comic that won't be a film. Deliberately so.

Best Cellars #1 – $81 – First appearance of Monster Boy, The Goon

Amazing Spider-Man #238 – $80 – with tattoo, obviously.

The Dark Knight Returns #1 – $80 – and yes, that means that Batman #1 sells for more than Dark Knight. Watch this blow Snyder's mind.

Preacher #2 – $80 – there will be this TV show

Love And Rockets #1 – $80

Ambiguously Gay Duo #1 – $80

Cry For Dawn #1 – $80

Fantasy Quarterly #1 – $80 – First Elfquest

Pax Romana #1 – $80 – The biggest jump in recent weeks on the back of a new TVshow announcement. From the dollar bin directly to the Eighty Dollar Club.

Walking Dead #48 – $80
