Feral NYC is a post apocalyptic sci-fi comic exploring NYC after mankind has driven itself to extinction. The comic will be printed on 100% recycled paper to combat the future predicted in the comic; which s jam packed with human waste and dead technology.
Elevator Pitch: WALL-E meets Homeward Bound meets PBS Nature Docs…
Feral NYC started off as an excuse for me to practice drawing backgrounds and intense land/cityscapes, but has now evolved into a full fledged, post-apocalyptic sci-fi adventure.
However, this isn't your normal "world ending" scenario, in fact in Feral NYC, the world has long ended for us humans. We, like the dinosaurs before us, have been completely wiped out… leaving behind giant cities cluttered with useless, technological invention & human conveniences.
It's now nature's turn to evolve around the man-made cities and junk we've left behind. We see and explore the city most affected by mankind's legacy & demise, New York City, through the eyes of a lone, solar powered reconnaissance droid, 7-7. Constantly recording, 7-7 documents many strange evolutions & mutations including; swarms of predatory pigeons, mutated crustaceans from Chinatown, Central Park Zoo animals, herds of prey lapdogs and much much more.
I'm a fairly new creator to the comics scene, with the few things I've worked on so far, just starting to show up on the comic radars. Feral NYC is special to me because it is both one of the first and last things I've done with the medium. It's been in development(in some form or another) since I fist decided to make an attempt at building a career in this amazingly expressive industry. It's gone through many iterations but I believe Feral NYC is finally ready to be put into peoples hands. And so far it seems many would agree.
I believe there is nothing like it on the comic stands right now. With your help, my very first comic series can become a reality! At the time of writing this, Feral NYC is about 70% funded (on Kickstarter) & could use your help to not only get fully funded, but possibly make enough where I can really add tons of extras, more backup stories by creators you know & love, and add even more cool Feral NYC swag.
