Fox Picks Up Gotham To Series

gotham logo

Not surprising news, but now it is official. Fox has announced today that its Batman prequel drama Gotham has been picked up to series. The show had a pilot order with a "series commitment" which meant the network would have had to pay a penalty if it wasn't picked up to series.

The network has committd to "at least" 13 episodes, while EW passes along word that the first trailer will debut tonight with the premiere of 24: Live Another Day, which makes sense.

Ben McKenzie plays Jim Gordan, who's just a Detective with the Gotham PD, working under the mentorship of his partner, Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) and coming face to face with young men and women who will grow into some of DC's most iconic villains, like Catwoman, the Penguin and the Riddler. The future Batman himself is but a wee lad played by David Mazouz, dealing with the death of his parents.
