Bleeding Cool Bestseller List – 28th April 2014 – Eternally Yours

BMETRL-3-1-e622b_1398281726010A collation of the top ten charts of a number if disparate stores, measuring sales on Wednesdays and Thursdays only, those who can't wait till the weekend to buy their comics. A indication of unstoppable desire….

Three weeks in and Batman Eternal is still beating al comers. Including the launch of Original Sin, the conclusion of The Walking Dead's All Out War, and the launch of Secret Origins. And note Lazarus playing with the big boys…

  1. Batman Eternal #3
  2. Walking Dead #126
  3. Original Sin #0
  4. Guardians of Galaxy #14
  5. Uncanny Avengers #19
  6. Justice League United #0
  7. Batman Superman #9
  8. Secret Origins #1
  9. Daredevil #2
  10. Lazarus #8

And this is what they had to say…

Batman Eternal is showing no signs of slowing down, people are really enjoying getting a weekly fix of Batman. Original Sin #0 did well but people were cautious and the audience for The Flash is growing steadily.

Marvel and DC own this week.  Other than Walking Dead the Independent had no answers to the abundance of the Big Two titles.

Great week for books, moved a ton of product. The only book that under performed was Justice League United #0, but that was expected since Justice league of America crashed after the first issue.
Walking Dead sold well, but the ending sucked. How has Rick not died of an infection from all the wounds he has sustained from the beginning of this book, Wolverine's healing factor could barely keep up with this guy.

Deadpool is the flavor of the week, with many of the mini-series being chased down on the back-issues and of course FBP and Collider #1 since the option news.

Good sales these last two days. Batman Eternal is doing great. Could it give the main Batman book a run for its money in the future? Original Sin I heavily ordered on thanks to all of Marvel's incentives. It sold well but it is not looking like it will sell out anytime soon. Hopefully once issue one comes out more people will jump on issue zero. Guardians of the Galaxy 14 sold out Wednesday even with the upped order. The title is on fire. Did the re launch of Daredevil hurt the title? The 2nd issue didn't even make it in the top ten and has dropped below where it was selling before the re launch. Walking Dead still pulls in the true new never before comic reader off the streets into the store.

The New 52 Suicide Squad back issues all the sudden are in demand. Green Arrow thanks to the Arrow show has seen both his New 52 and pre 52 back issues jump in demand. Avengers back issues are getting some love thanks to the buzz about the next Avengers movie.

First half of our top sellers was no big surprise. New 1/0's.. Walking Dead.. Batman Eternal is going to be in the top spot for a while I expect. The few people who gave Iron Patriot #1 a chance did not come back. Not many people seemed interested in an Elektra solo series either. All New Invaders has been very steady since its first issue.

We've been getting cleaned out of our Amazing Spider-Man back issues, especially the year or so leading to #700. Can't keep Lemire's Animal Man trades in stock either.
