IDW Entertainment Partnering With Entertainment One For TV Development And Distribution
IDW Entertainment, the production arm of IDW Publishing, have partnered with Entertainment One to further develop and eventually distribute TV projects based on their catalog of comic book properties.
The new business partners will seek to secure straight-to-series commitments from networks for their projects. So none of that pilot season anxiety for their myriad of in-development potential TV shows, including Life Undead, which follows a zombie cop in New Orleans, and Brooklyn Animal Control, which isn't about rescuing puppies and kittens, but about controlling the underground werewolf population in NYC.
An HBO or an AMC could definitely be ideal fits for such fantastical premises, so it's lucky eOne does a lot of business with the latter, working with AMC on shows like the upcoming Turn and Halt & Catch Fire and a little engine that could you may have heard of called The Walking Dead.
