Rust Ends Up Alone Again In New True Detective Deleted Scene

HBO clearly gets that people are still in mourning over True Detective ending and have graced us with this, a deleted scene that didn’t make it to air during the first season.

We knew that Rust (Matthew McConaughey) ultimately ends up in 2012 alone, but we also knew that he “almost” got married again at some point, and this clip shows us how he got from one point to the other. Rust and Lori (Elizabeth Reaser) were seen only briefly during a flashback in one episode, but here is an almost 3 minute long scene that depicts how their relationship ends.

It’s not quite like having the show back, but it’s something.
