Roger Deakins Not Returning For Bond 24

It’s still got Sam Mendes directing and John Logan writing and of course Daniel Craig starring, but Bond 24 will be lacking one important element that made Skyfall such a smash with critics and audiences: Renowned cinematographer Roger Deakins will not be involved.

So who should replace him? Bruno Delbonnel certainly did a splendid job filling in for Deakins on the Coens’ latest, Inside Llewyn Davis. Hoyte Van Hoytema made Spike Jonze’s Her absolutely gorgeous. Someone up and coming like Adam Arkapaw has also done incredible work on Animal Kingdom, Lore and of course, currently on HBO’s True Detective. It’s sad Deakins won’t be back but the open possibilities are rather exciting, no?
