Bleeding Cool Bestseller List – Superior Batman Weathers The Storms – 15th February 2014

batA collation of the top ten charts of a number of disparate stores, measuring sales on Wednesdays and Thursdays only, of those who can't wait till the weekend to buy their comics. A indication of unstoppable desire….

And since the new Batman is out this week, that's what takes the top. With or without Batspoilers…

  1. Batman #28
  2. Superior Spider-Man #27.NOW
  3. All New X-Men #23
  4. Walking Dead #121
  5. Justice League of America #12
  6. Avengers #26
  7. Superman/Wonder Woman #5
  8. She Hulk #1
  9. Thor God Of Thunder #19
  10. Wolverine & The X-Men #41

Thanks to the following retailers,

And this is what they had to say.

We increased our order on Superior Spider-man #27 but we couldn't sell anywhere near what Batman #28 sold. She-Hulk #1 looks terrible and many pull and hold customers decided to pass on this dog once they looked inside. With new episodes returning to TV, sales on Walking Dead trades are sitting dead on our shelves. Has everyone who wanted to read them finally got them all, or are they all buying them from for much less on Amazon?

Not much happening this week, the people who have stopped in seem (understandably) more interested in the Olympics and the weather than in comic books. Here's hoping that our pals in the US, Maritimes, and England are literally weathering the storms okay. We increased our order on Superior Spider-man #27 but we couldn't sell anywhere near what Batman #28 sold.

Great week for books and my numbers did not include the 2nd prints for the 3D issues. I would like to thank all the stores that did not order The Bunker it was top seller with 110 copies sold, electric bill covered for the month.

Sheltered still moving great and of course Batman as well. Green Arrow moving great especially the New 52 #24. First Diggle appearance. I have had to re-order that book three weeks in a row.

Glad to see the Bunker #1 sell so well but were very surprised to see so many shops selling out. The hype around that book has been crazy, so lots of our customers were very glad to finally be able to scoop it up in print form. We ordered pretty damn heavy on it and aren't regretting it. Also very happy to hear Christopher Golden's SONS OF ANARCHY comic from BOOM being made an ongoing. We have a great fan base for that book/show in the shop and they are very happy it's sticking around.

All-New X-men & Guardians of the Galaxy both continue to sell crazy in back issues. People are jumping onto the Trial of Jean Grey and loving it so much that they want to read the full runs of both books. Ol' Bendis kicking some serious ass as of late!

Weather had a major effect on Thursdays sales, but I don't know if this list would have changed much. Letter 44 was #13, which is a great showing for ONI. That $1 first issue helped get this in peoples hands (combined with a really good book) and they keep coming back.

Batman is such a popular draw that when a new issue comes out sales are always solid for that week. Deadpool still blazing brightly. She Hulk 1 was not a hit sadly. Superior Spiderman even though it has been announced as ending has more people checking it out to see how it all ends. Anytime Darth is on the cover of a Star Wars title sales surge. Already sold out of the latest Star Wars.

Past issues of the Superman Wonder series are in demand. More people are getting the series now than when it first came out.

Walking Dead owns the week almost tripling out Batman sales.  We have seen a whole new crowd come in for the W. Dead series both in comic and toys.  Marvel and Dc had a good portion of the other 9 spots. However Both Big Dog Ink Shahazad and Zenescopes Wonderland took spots away from the big two.  Harley Quinn continues to be our number #1 sell comic.
