Informa Adds Dallas Comic Con To Their Collection

image

I understand that Swiss/British publishing, conference and investor company Informa purchased the Dallas Comic Con last week.

The show, running since 2002, has previously been run under the SciFi Expo banner from the OfficialPix company.

Last year, Bleeding Cool broke the news to the wider comics community that Informa had purchased the Toronto Fan Expo, and this seems part of a strategy to acquire a number of existing shows, before rebranding and promoting them together, in the fashion of Wizard World, Reed Pop or Comic Con International.

Steve Menzies of Fan Expo confirmed the news to Bleeding Cool on enquiry and told us that there are "Hopefully more to come" and that the result would be "like Wizard/Reed only better" and that it would be "great for fans, great for the industry and great for us!"

So… Anyone want to sell a comic book convention to the Europeans?
