David Fincher And Gillian Flynn Reunite To Remake British Thriller Utopia For HBO

We still don't know how Gone Girl will turn out – my guess is awesome, just like all of his other films – but clearly David Fincher and author Gillian Flynn saw eye to eye and are now keen to work together again.

THR reports the director and writer are teaming up with HBO to develop a six-episode series remake of British thriller Utopia, from writer-creator Dennis Kelly. Flynn is currently writing the screenplay, and Fincher will direct.

The series has a comic book-centric angle, and follows a group of devoted fans of an underground graphic novel who jump into action when they discover the elusive author has written a secret (even more secret) sequel. Naturally, searching for the mythical book becomes an adventure in and of itself and those on the hunt "suddenly find themselves in a game of shifting loyalties, conspiracy and shocking twists as the true meaning of the book is slowly revealed."

The British Utopia series (pictured above) is already in production on a second season.
