The Publicity For Star Wars Rebels Keeps Coming, The Publicity For Episode VII Doesn’t‏

Lucasfilm have released a new image of The Inquisitor to EW. He’s the villain of Star Wars: Rebels, the upcoming animated series that kicks off with an hour-long special in the autumn.

That image is hardly groundshaking. Indeed, we saw something very similar back in October. Very, very similar.

Is there any new info in the text of the EW story? No. Not at all.

So what’s going on? Is the ongoing roll of Rebels press releases a filler for the Star Wars fandom, hungry for news? Seems like a reasonable theory. I’ll be looking to the fandom to see how they react. It’s not that I’m expecting some kind of meltdown, but surely there’s only so long that Rebels can sustain all round excitement without Episode VII adding some fuel to the fire.
