My name is Nathan—from NathansComicArt.com. I'm a Comic-book Artist/Penciler and Graphic Designer from Orange County, California. Anytime I had a spare second during the past year and a half, I'd work on Monsters, Maidens & Mayhem.

You know those wonderful Hardcover Art-Books and Sketchbooks that you find at comic conventions? Well, for a new artist like myself, trying to produce a book like that would normally be financially impossible. But thanks to a wonderful little crowd-funding site called Kickstarter.com, I'll finally be able to turn all of my poster illustrations, renderings and sketches into an amazing Hardcover for upcoming Comic-Book Conventions. My campaign finishes up on December 21st, and delivery is set for June 2014.

I've always had this thing about quality. Whether it's a comic, a movie, or a new game I picked up on Steam, I'm drawn to things where it's obvious that a ton of extra effort has gone into them. Not just something I'd enjoy once and then shelve, but something I'd want to come back to over and over again. Most of us (by that I mean comic book fanatics) have a handful of books by certain writers or artists that we've looked through sooo many damn times that the pages are pretty much falling out.

One of the very first comics I couldn't put down was the Gen13 first miniseries Trade-Paperback. I've gone through that book a zillion times, and in addition to the outstanding quality of the art, I could still always find cool little details in the background that I had missed before. And that's what I wanted to do with Monsters, Maidens & Mayhem. I wanted to create something of quality that stands out, and I wanted to make sure to keep the humor, adventure, and whimsy intact. For me, those are the types of things that make Comic-Art irresistible. My goal was to create a book that would leave people smiling and looking through it until–like my Gen 13–the pages were pretty much falling out.

Okay, so one of the coolest aspects of putting this book together was getting to work with Digital Painters from the Comic-Book and video game industry. Uber-talented artists like Hector Sevilla Lujan (aka: El Sevilla on DeviantArt.com), Chuck Pires, and David Delanty (aka: Vest on DeviantArt.com). All of them possess the kind of jaw-dropping talent that makes your brain go "It's shiny and I want it!"

It's been an amazing journey. I've been an avid reader of Bleeding Cool for a looong time, and now I get to actually have my book featured in one of its articles??? How bleeding cool is that?!
