Stan Lee's Last Trip To Europe – The London Film And Comic Con

stan lee and childThe London Film And Comic Con, though longer running, has played second fiddle to the MCM London Expo. It's more of a meet-and-greet-someone-off-the-telly-or-a-film-you-liked-as-a-kid kind of show, but Mike Conroy has, of late, upped the caliber of the comic book guests. Hell, even Bleeding Cool has been invited to set up stall, this coming July, a week before San Diego Comic Con.

And we might just do that. Especially considering that joining Erik Larsen, Rick Remender, Mike McKone, Paul Gulacy, Mike Mayhew, Mike Perkins, Hunt Emerson, Carlos Ezquerra and Gilbert Shelton will be Stan Lee.

For the last time.

Lee appeared at the London Super Comic Con a couple of years ago, and brought out the crowds. But this is billed as his final European appearance, ever.

The show states;

After decades of meeting his fans, he has finally decided that long distance travel is to be left to the likes of Iron Man, who can do it far faster and look a little more awesome when doing so! And thanks to the world being safely left in the hands of our superheroes, he can hang up his cape on the European circuit.

It makes sense that it's the UK, Lee's wife is from here, she was a model from South Shields when Stan Lee met her in the states, and they have family here.

But yes, if you are British based don't feel like going to San Diego the week after, this may well be your last opportunity.

Now, tickets aren't cheap. An autograph of Stan will cost you £45, a photo £35 and attending his talk, £25. A Comic Gold Pass including meet and greets with fellow fans, professionals and Stan Lee will cost you £195.

But Stan Lee has demanded six figures in the past for him and his entourage to make the trip to London, so you can see it in that context. And it is his last time…

But hey, I'll be happy just to meet Gilbert Shelton again!
