Frank Miller's Back… And A Good Thing Too, Looking At Advance Reorders
Greetings from the coal face of the direct comics market. Where retailers try to increase their orders of certain comics ahead of sale. Where supply and demand and most accurately reflected, where you can see which books are hot, where new orders are coming in and how retailers are reacting to new, unanticipated desire!
The second item, Avengers World #1, offered massive discounts to retailers if they ordered 175% of New Avengers #9. Black Widow the same for 200% orders on Hawkeye #14. X-Factor the same for 100% of All New X-Men #15. Legenderry #1 will be fully returnable. All New Marvel Now gets added discount if retailers match their original Marvel Now Point One orders. Empire Of The Dead #1 the same on Uncanny Avengers #11 orders. This might explain all the recent increases in advance reorders.
Batman #27 and Twilight Zone however have no such incentives, the increase in those orders is all directly linked to an increase in interest in the market over retailer's earlier expectations. Same with Star Wars #0 and Superior Spider-Man #25 and Cataclysm Ultimate Spider-Man #3.
