Paul Duffield may be best known for Freakangels, the webcomic with Warren Ellis by Bleeding Cool's publisher Avatar Press.

Well now he's gone out and done something new by himself. The web comic Fireflight Isle. Two chapters in, and it is drop dead beautiful and gorgeous.

Each chapter is one page, but a long page that scrolls down from the top of the webpage to the bottom. This will then be split up into pages and to be published by David Fickling Books, part of Random House and also the folk behind the ongoing Phoenix weekly comic to which Duffield has contributed.

It's another world, another culture, another life, with its own rules, expectations, duties, prisons – and possibilities of escape. Bookmark it today... and be thankful.
