Wonder Woman Rumors Get More Real As New Actresses Join The Hunt For Batman Vs. Superman Female Lead

Well, things are definitely getting real. Trades – Variety, today – are now seemingly confirming earlier scoops from blogs (BC included) that Wonder Woman may, in fact, be appearing in Zack Snyder’s Batman Vs. Superman movie.

Today’s report in Variety also confirms yesterday’s scoop that Olga Kurylenko is indeed in the running for the role, whatever it may be, as well as two new contenders. Gal Gadot played Gisele in the last two Fast and Furious movies, and Elodie Young played Jinx in G. I. Joe: Retaliation. As for those Jaimie Alexander rumors? Forget it, says Variety, she’s committed to Marvel and working for DC is a non-starter.

All three ladies who are now in the running certainly look the part and indeed, even as the trade cautions that the role could just be some run of the mill damsel in distress love interest for Ben Affleck’s Batman, the casting breakdown for the unknown character – “tall, brunette, athletic and exotic” – perfectly fits Wonder Woman as well.

In fact, Variety goes so far as to say that Wonder Woman may not be the only Justice Leaguer appearing in the film, with Flash specifically also mentioned as a possibility to appear in a minor role. Then, there are these tweets from THR reporter Borys Kit:

Are you excited to see these characters appear on screen at last? Or are Snyder and Affleck and co. trying to cram too much in? Does it really make any sense for Batman to have a love interest who looks so much like Wonder Woman but is not Wonder Woman? A lot of new info to chew on here, DC fans….
