Official Plot Blurb For The Day Of The Doctor, The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Episode

STRICTLY EMBARGOED UNTIL 00.01 ON WEDNESDAY 11 SEPTEMBER, 2013 GMTDoctor Who – 50th Anniversary Special - The Day of the Doctor

Auntie Beeb has officially published a plot blurb for The Day of the Doctor and it’s pleasantly tantalising.

The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special.  In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.

We already knew that the National Gallery was involved – wait until you see some of what they’ve got hanging on the walls in there – but this “something terrible” is new to me.

And what’s this ancient battle in space? The Time War? That wasn’t “ancient” was it?
